Happy -LOVE- Day Y’all!
So believe it or not, this is my first time decorating for Valentine’s Day. I usually do a cheesy little tablescape just for our dinner that night but nothing like this. With 17 moves in 8 Years I have never had the time to spend on it. I recently had a design client ask me what I was doing this year, and I thought HEY WHY NOT!! It was a very exciting moment for me.
My wheels immediately started turning. With the birth of our first girl this year I finally had a little pink decor to steal from! Some people think I have boxes upon boxes of holiday decor but it’s simply not true (well not according to my husband anyway). I try so hard to re-use and re purpose everything we have. I am not made of money so I try to stay with in a reasonable budget and recycle as much as I can! Enjoy!!
I’ve had a lot of questions on my pillows. Pillows can definitely be a huge expense in any room. I love lots of pillows and I love Alternating them out when I tire of certain colors and patterns. I order the most wonderful pillow inserts from royalpillow. They are inexpensive but unbelievable quality and feel (i get the polyester “down-like” so my living room doesn’t look like a duck hunt and you don’t have feathers poking your back!)
If I can’t find cheap enough covers I make them myself. However, my go to inexpensive easy cover retailers are: H&M, Ikea, Etsy, and Jane.
In this set up I borrowed the pink velvet from my daughter’s room. They are from H&M and I added the adorable pom-pom trim. The red velvet pillows are from my Christmas decor and I made them using fabric from Joanne’s.
I will have a tutorial on the easiest way to make pillow covers soon. (The best part? They are no sew!!!!!) Stay tuned!
Again, not made of money. I would LOOOOOOVE to continually use real flowers in my house but that would be very costly. Plus, I hate to throw rotten flowers out. It can be difficult to find fake flowers that don’t look cheap. Luckily for me, Santa brought me a Michael’s gift card this year and I went recently when “spring blooms” were 40% off!
It’s worth it to invest a little more in the more expensive ones that don’t look as fake. I usually do Hobby Lobby for flowers but Micheal’s really rocked it this time.
UGH who would not love to use rose gold flatware all year long? How lavish! I however, do not live that lifestyle (with 3 littles and a man-child my silverware needs to be made of steel really). Would you believe me if I told you it was fake?!?! Their beautiful color caught my gaze just as I was abut to check out at Michael’s last weekend. What a find and absolutely perfect for this tablescape!
I whipped up these simple napkin ties in just a few minutes. Ribbon, a white pen, and some card stock is all you need!!
