Meet Terra! She’s a fabulous mom who loves creating beautiful and unique bedrooms for her four children. She shows us how she turned a simple corner of her mater bedroom into a special space for her newest bundle of joy!
“This is the quilt that started it all, my inspiration piece for Wyatt’s nursery corner. My motherinlaw found this quilt at a Christmas bazaar in Oregon and surprised me with it as a Christmas gift. When I decided to actually do a nursery in the corner of our master bedroom I knew I’d wanted to keep it fairly neutral so this quilt gave me the perfect inspiration and color palette.
The first piece we completed for his nursery was his dresser, since I have a booth in a local antique/decor shop hoarding and refinishing furniture is second nature! I wasn’t so sure when my husband pulled this specific dresser out of our storage unit. This was a curbside find from almost a year ago and was frankly in rough shape, I didn’t have the same vision for it that he had but I trusted him and I am so glad we did!! We removed the top and replaced it with some thick reclaimed wood for character, removed the two broken drawers and replaced those with shelves, and added the fun log pulls from Hobby Lobby to tie in that woodland theme I was going for.

Our next goal was to find a crib small enough to fit in the corner without overwhelming it. It took some searching but we found the perfect fit on a local yard sale page. A couple coats of the same grey I used as the stripes accent in the dresser and we were in business!
Once the main pieces (dresser & crib) were done and in place the accent decor just flew into place! I got a lot of fun inspiration from both Pinterest and by searching woodland themed nurseries on Instagram. The vintage metal milk crate and oil lantern came from my stash of fun vintage items I keep for my shop.
The mobile and “W” were super fun DIYs! I finished it off with a faux sheepskin run I’ve had from Ikea amor a long while and a few cute woodland themed prints from hobby lobby. I kept the bedding simple since I had the awesome quilt to go with it and chose a grey & white stripe from target and a funky geometric pillow I scored at goodwill.
Another fun fact about this nursery is that the total cost for absolutely everything was right at $165. Not too shabby!
A little about me, my name is Terra, I’m a mommy of soon to be 4 kiddos who has an obsession for creating decor and revamping furniture that’s on it’s last leg of life!
