Meet Gina! She is a true DIY mom! Gina used her creative skills and Pinterest to make a very fun and colorful toddler room for her daughter Vida.
“Everything in Vida’s room was DIY project or refinished pieces. The color pallet for the room was inspired by her very first card given to me by a forever friend Janina when I found out I was pregnant. I loved the colors!
Her original nursery was yellow & gray and I wanted to upgrade it to a big girl’s room while keeping it at a minimal cost. I broke even with everything once I sold her chair and other small baby items for this room redo.
I was inspired to make her teepee from a link on Pinterest, which you can find here. I just catered it to what I wanted and sewed the fabric portion myself. Her curtains are DIY as well. I just bought fabric from Hobby lobby.
The wall strips cost me $6 and are…duct tape!! Comes off easy with a blow dryer and goo gone! Her cubicle is repainted to match her room.
I made her letters with pieces of tissue paper and modge podge. I loved the idea of texture and saw something similar on Pinterest.
Her dresser was an awesome $10 garage sale find that I repainted.
The bed was thought of late one night when I realized I needed to get her out my bed and out of the teepee for naps. A trip to Home Depot, $29, and 3 hours later I made a bed! I wanted it to be like a fairy tale-play house and on the floor with lots of pillows that I made myself.
Most of the items I used to DIY were purchased at target (on clearance), hobby lobby, or goodwill.”
We are so in love with this toddler room! That bed would be amazing for any toddler. If your toddler already has a toddler bed then consider making this awesome bed for a playroom. It would make a really cute reading nook!
