5 Best Things To Buy When You Find Out You’re Pregnant
This post probably contains affiliate links, to items I am in love with, and I am confident you will too!
Well it happened! You are Pregnant! So now what? Well if it’s your first time don’t worry we have a perfect list of some must haves to buy to make pregnancy a little easier! You will start to notice (if you haven’t all ready) some changes your body will start going through. For me it was the breast pain! Don’t worry these must haves were a big lifesaver for me for both my pregnancies.
1. Pregnancy pillow
Meet your new favorite pregnancy item! The pregnancy pillow is an absolute must have for pregnant mamas. I would get one right away. Sure you might not be showing and you are not super uncomfortable yet but trust me it will make sleeping a lot better. So many moms use their pregnancy pillows during pregnancy and beyond!
My absolute favorite pregnancy body pillow is this one! I used it during both my pregnancies and I still use it!
2. Pregnancy Books
Your body is about to go through so many changes. I was completely clueless with my first and I wished I had read pregnancy books as soon as I found out. I have spent many sleepless nights just trying to look up everything I could about my pregnancy. Even with my second I still enjoyed reading pregnancy books. You forget a lot of the details of pregnancy and it is always a great refresher.
3. Pregnancy Nursing Bra
One of the first big signs for me that I was expecting was the horrible breast pain! Pregnancy does a number to your breasts. I couldn’t wear a regular bra because it was just to painful. I highly suggest getting a pregnancy/ nursing bra as soon as possible. The reason I suggest a nursing bra during pregnancy is because the nursing bras are more comfortable and you will be able to wear them through out your pregnancy and postpartum whether you decided to nurse or not. I always opt for a sport bra type. I look for something that will grow with me and be super comfortable. I avoid underwire bras as well. This is the bra I lived in during my last pregnancy.
4. Morning Sickness Products
Ahhhh the fun part. If your lucky you won’t have to experience this part that much. But if your like me you will deal with the worst type of extreme morning sickness called hyperemesis gravidarum. Unfortunately with HG it is a really rough ride with little that can be done. The best tips I can share is to try and make the process of morning (or all day and night) sickness as comfortable as possible. There are a few great products that helped me. It’s trial and error and seems like a nightmare at times but you will get through it! There are great candies you can buy that come in flavors that help with the nausa. I found sipping hot tea helped too. I always had a hard time with drinking enough water and when you have HG it almost seems impossible so I would always get a super cute water bottle to help get me to drink more. I also will only drink cold water so I look for water bottles like this one that keeps my water cold for hours! For light morning sickness these bands were actually helpful!
5. Prenatal Vitamins
Taking vitamins is important for any pregnancy. Prenatal are filled with all the important vitamins you and your baby need. Sometimes if you have morning sickness it can be hard to take your prenatals like it was for me. You can talk to your doctor about other options. I preferred these gummies to swallowing large pills. Your ob will have great suggestions on different vitamins to take.
This is such an incredible and exciting time in your life! Enjoy every moment even the not so fun ones! Check out my list of must haves for each trimester of your pregnancy. You got this!
